Very Important Note: The excellence of your Giclee is limited by the quality of the digital file you send us, although we can sometimes do surprisingly well printing from sub optimal digital captures. The file should be at least 300 dpi (or spi) at the size you want printed, and be optically perfect. The color space (best is Adobe RGB or ProPhoto) should be embedded with the file.
If it MUST be upsized please let us do it. If available, send along a little (proof) print with with colors acceptable to you. It is fine to capture using a jpeg file in your camera, but don’t open and resave in this format again since artifacts are added each time you resave in this format. Instead, just move such a file to a CD or upload it that way if possible. Otherwise it is better to save as a tiff or in Photoshop format to avoid artifact generation..
Most files we get don’t meet all these criteria, so send what you have and we will do our very best. If there are serious problems with the file we will let you know.
The very best is to let us do the digital capture directly from your art work by the BetterLight Scanning Camera. You can deliver it to us here at the studio (best to call ahead) or even ship it insured. This allows us to do the finest color adjustment for the print since we have the original to compare under standardized (5000 K) light.
